Portraits
I specialize in portraits and love to capture people in a more natural setting or in a place that they consider special or meaningful. And, although I have a small studio and can photograph people with a simple background, many times I come to the person’s home and photograph them around their belongings. This makes for a more comfortable setting than photographing them under studio conditions and creates a more intimate and natural look.
Landscapes
I have always been keenly aware that I enjoy photography. This along with my enjoyment of the great outdoors is why I enjoy scenic photography so much. Whenever my family would go on vacation I was the one with the camera. However, it was not until I grew up that I would really discover my passion of photography.
I use my photography to paint a story or capture a fraction of the whole. And, the ever changing world in which we live provides me with a bountiful supply of material to photograph. It is because of these infinite possibilities of different scenes or subject matter that make photography all the more interesting and exciting.
I am a versatile photographer and specialize in Landscape photography, portraits and contemporary photography. I am a professional photographer that takes pride in my work and strive to always make sure that the work I do is the very best of my abilities. I am continually seeking to improve my art and learn new techniques. I have become a lifelong learner of photography and that of life as well.
One of the challenges that I face is finding places and capturing them in a unique way or from a fresh vantage point. Or capturing a scene from a perspective that cannot be found simply by parking the car and snapping away at the scenery from the parking lot. I love to get out and explore new places to get the shots that I have. Many times this involves hiking into a location in the dark to get the epic sunrise over Mt. Rainier or the Olympics in Washington State or other areas.
A note on digital enhancements
Digital enhancements of my prints, if any, are limited to minor color and contrast correction using Photoshop and the removal of any minor blemishes that may be in the photo at the time it was shot.
